What it checks
AI crawler access
Reads your robots.txt for OAI-SearchBot, GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, Applebot-Extended, CCBot and Bingbot.
Firewall test
Fetches your homepage as each crawler and as a normal browser, to catch silent blocks from bot protection.
Readable without JavaScript
Checks your words are in the HTML, because most AI crawlers don't run scripts.
Clear business summary
Title, meta description, headings and schema.org data that say plainly what you do.
Sitemap
Finds your sitemap and counts the pages it lists.
Not hidden from search
Looks for noindex and nosnippet, which keep you out of the search results AI tools draw on.
How the score works
Every report shows these weights, so you can see exactly where the points come from. Crawlers used for AI search (OAI-SearchBot, Bingbot, PerplexityBot) count a little more than ones used only for training.
| Check | Weight |
|---|---|
| AI crawlers allowed in robots.txt | 30 |
| Firewall lets AI crawlers through | 20 |
| Readable without JavaScript | 15 |
| Title and meta description | 8 |
| Heading structure | 5 |
| Clear business summary and structured data | 10 |
| Sitemap | 7 |
| Not hidden from search (noindex) | 5 |
| Total | 100 |

The honest bit
PingAI checks whether AI crawlers can reach and read your site. It can't make any AI tool feature, rank or recommend a business, and nobody can promise that. What it does is find the blocks you can fix. Results are a snapshot from one test server and can differ from what real crawlers see.
Blocking AI training crawlers (GPTBot, CCBot, Google-Extended, Applebot-Extended) is a fair choice, and the report says so. It costs a few points because those crawlers then can't read your site at all.
