Why it matters
Web copy works to limits: about 60 characters for a page title, 155 for a meta description, 280 for an X post, and a brief that says 'around 800 words'. Checking by eye doesn't work, and word processors don't know the web limits.
Developers need case conversion just as often: turning a heading into a CSS class, a JSON key or a constant. Both jobs are here, and characters are counted properly, so an emoji counts as one.

By the numbers
The tool's example text is 23 words and 137 characters: over the 125-character alt text guideline; within one 160-character SMS; within a 160-character meta description; within an X post. X's limit is for standard accounts; SMS drops to 70 characters once you use emoji or accents. Source: X Help: counting characters; GSM 03.38 character set.Show the numbers as a table

FAQ
How is reading time worked out?
At 230 words a minute, a typical adult reading speed for web text. Speaking time uses 150 words a minute.
Why does my title fit in characters but get cut off?
Google cuts titles by pixel width, not characters. Check in the Meta & Social Previewer.
Which title case style is this?
Capitalised main words with short words such as 'and', 'of' and 'the' kept lowercase, except at the start. UK sites often prefer sentence case for headings.
Is my text stored?
No. It's counted in your browser and not saved or sent.
