Why it matters
The quality of a website quote depends on the brief. 'I need a website' gets you a wild guess; a page listing what the site is for, who it's for, the pages and features and what content you already have gets you an accurate price and a realistic timeline.
Writing that brief from scratch is daunting, so this tool asks the questions a web designer would ask, in plain English. Send the PDF to as many designers as you like. If you'd like a quote from me, the Send to Lee button fills in my contact form with your brief, so you can check it before sending.
How to use it
- Work through the six steps. Only your name, email, what your business does and the type of project are required.
- Your answers are saved in this browser, so you can come back later.
- Review the brief, then download it as Markdown or PDF.
- To ask me for a quote, press Send to Lee, check the message, and send it from the contact form.
FAQ
Why doesn't it give me a price?
Because an honest price depends on details a form can't judge. You get a rough scope size; I'll reply with an actual quote after reading the brief.
Is my brief sent anywhere?
No. It's built in your browser and saved only in this browser. Nothing is sent unless you press Send in the contact form.
Can I send the brief to other designers?
Of course. The PDF and Markdown are yours to use however you like.
How do I delete my answers?
Press Clear my answers at the bottom of the form.
