Internal Link & Orphan Page Graph

Turn a crawl export into a map of your internal links: which pages nothing links to, how deep each page sits, and where link value collects.

    01

    What it does

Builds the internal link graph from a crawl export and works out click depth, internal PageRank, orphans, links to redirects and generic anchors.

    • Screaming Frog All Inlinks, Sitebulb or two-column CSV
    • Click depth from the home page
    • Internal PageRank (0.85 damping), dangling pages handled
    • Orphans: sitemap URLs nothing links to

    02

    Private by design

Everything happens in your browser. Nothing you type, paste or upload is sent anywhere, and it keeps working offline once the page has loaded.

    03

    What you get

Orphans, depth, PageRank and a CSV, with a Copy and a Download button on every result.

    Why it matters

Internal links decide how crawlers move through a site and how much weight each page gets. Pages five clicks deep or linked only from a sitemap are crawled less and rank worse, and a redirect in the main menu costs a hop on every page. A crawler export has all the data, but as a list of hundreds of thousands of rows it doesn't show the shape.

This analyser builds the link graph in your browser. It works out how many clicks each page is from the home page, runs PageRank over the internal links to show where link value collects, finds sitemap URLs nothing links to, and flags links to redirects and errors and pages only linked with 'click here'. The full table downloads as a CSV for your own analysis.

Computed by this tool on its sample crawl: 15 pages, 96 internal links, 2 orphans (https://www.example.co.uk/tables/settle/, https://www.example.co.uk/guides/archive/2019-fair/). PageRank here uses the 0.85 damping factor from the original paper and averages 1 per page, so anything far below 1 gets little internal link weight. Source: Brin and Page, 1998.

    How to use it

    1. Export All Inlinks from your crawler and open it (or paste a sample).
    2. Paste your sitemap to find orphans.
    3. Read the depth chart and the orphan list.
    4. Link important deep pages and orphans from strong pages, then crawl again.

    FAQ

    Which export do I need?

Screaming Frog: Bulk Export, Links, All Inlinks. Sitebulb's link exports work too, or any CSV with source and destination columns.

    What is internal PageRank here?

The same idea as Google's original PageRank, run only over your internal links. It shows where your linking sends weight. It isn't Google's actual score.

    What counts as an orphan?

A URL in your sitemap that no crawled page links to, whether or not the crawler found it some other way.

How big a crawl can it handle?

Files are read in a background worker; a few hundred thousand links work in a modern browser. Only the top 150 pages are drawn.

    Is my crawl uploaded?

No. Everything runs in your browser.
