What it is
Monkey Book is the companion to Stat Monkey. It prices every Premier League fixture of the season from Stat Monkey's data, shows the most likely result and scoreline for each match, and lets you test those calls with a pretend bank and a paper bet slip.
It is not a bookmaker and not betting advice. No real money is ever staked, won or lost, and you can't deposit or withdraw anything. It's for adults only, and it points to BeGambleAware for anyone who needs help.
Who it's for
Adults who enjoy football predictions and want to pit their own judgement against a model, or play against friends, without any money involved.
What it does
- The CardEvery matchweek's fixtures with fair model prices and a most-likely call on the result, the score and goals.
- Paper bet slipSingles and accumulators from a pretend bank of 1,000, settled automatically when results come in.
- Big6 vs the MonkeyPredict the first six games of each matchweek and score points against the Monkey's own calls.
- Mini-leaguesPlay against friends in private mini-leagues. Free, with no real money and no prizes.
- An honest recordEvery graded call, hits and misses, with hit rates and a Brier score against bookmakers and a coin flip. Shareable as an image.
- Ratings and DataThe table as the model sees it, plus downloadable fixture and player files and saved price cards.
Why I built it
Stat Monkey shows what has happened. I wanted the other half: a clear, honest view of what might happen next, built on the same data and the same fixtures, so the two apps link to each other match by match.
I also wanted the predictions to be accountable. Every graded call is listed, hits and misses, and the record is scored against a coin flip and against the bookmakers' closing prices, so anyone can see how well the Monkey is really doing. Keeping it on paper means it's a game and a test, never a way to lose money.
How it's built
Monkey Book is built with Grok Build and hosted on Vercel, with the same React and TanStack Start stack as Stat Monkey. It doesn't collect football data itself: its server reads the table, results, club and player stats from Stat Monkey, then runs its own model.
The model rates each club's attack and defence, starts from a ten-match prior based on last season, and prices each match using only the games before it. Shot volume adjusts the live card. The results record is scored with a Brier score, where lower is better. There are five tabs: Card, Ratings, Slip, Big6 and Data.
